Quite outstanding. This dish soap smells great, washes great and has a low irritation potential for all but the most sensitive of skin. The ingredients are plant based, cruelty free and the bottle is 100% recycled and recyclable. There's so much to like with this company and this dish soap, and we can't recommend it highly enough.
Attitude Window and Mirror Cleaner
Attitude Window & Mirror Cleaner rescued my home's glass surfaces as well as or even better than any other brand-name, a commercial product that I've ever used, and my examination of the company and chemical formula behind this cleaner left me feeling pretty darn good.
Lots of product, no more smudges, simplicity, and a quick cleanup.
There's really nothing more I could ask for.

Puracy Natural Dishwasher Detergent Packs are top quality. They've been formulated with vision and expertise. They clean well. They are gentle on you and your family. And they won't break the bank.

ATTITUDE Kitchen Cleaner
ATTITUDE Kitchen Cleaner did the job I wanted it to do - clean the kitchen - and it did it very well. And it does this using ingredients that have been chosen with a great deal of thought and attention.
Very few products receive an A+ from the Environmental Working Group. Those that do often don't perform at such a high level, because A+ products automatically exclude many of the more powerful cleaning ingredients.
If you have a known allergy to one or more of these ingredients, or simply can't stand any scented products, then you will need to look elsewhere. For everyone else, including people who dislike strong scents but are fine with mild scents, this one is a winner!
Absolutely outstanding.
Nellie's Dishwasher Powder
There is so much to love about this product, from its clever branding and eco-friendly packaging to its no-nonsense formulation. At what equates to about 23 cents per load, its cost is fairly middle-of-the-road. I say it's well worth the price for some truly amazing cleaning power!
That red wine and honey teriyaki sauce didn't stand a chance.
Better Life Naturally Crumb Crushing Dishwasher Gel
Their dishwashing gel has been formulated with a great deal of care and expertise. It's fully plant-based, is gentle on you, your home and environment and actually works.
I honestly can't recommend this gel highly enough. Bravo Better Life! We'll be seeing much more of you!

Attitude All Purpose Citrus Zest Cleaner
Attitude All Purpose Cleaner doesn't exaggerate when it says it can tackle multiple surfaces and it cleared a broad selection of stains and dirt from my home.
From algae and mud to soap scum and mayonnaise, it's certainly diverse in terms of its cleaning capabilities. All with an ultra gentle formulation.
Overall, this eco-friendly all surfaces cleaner is an outstanding addition to any household.
Better Life Laundry Detergent
Better Life have done it again. This laundry detergent cleans as well as your regular detergent, but has a gentle biodegradable formulation that has been put together with a great deal of expertise.
Outstanding.
Attitude Baby Laundry Detergent
The fragrance-free Baby Laundry Detergent from Attitude is a great option for new parents and their babies, moms and dads-to-be, and those who simply want a non-toxic option for their family and anyone with sensitive skin.
The few ingredients used in the formula are derived from natural sources, biodegradable, and appear safe and non-toxic. Attitude has taken a great deal of care and effort to come up with this formulation. The fact it washes so well is incredible considering how few ingredients are in there.
We definitely recommend giving it a try. Even if you don't have babies!
Seventh Generation Free and Clear Dishwashing Detergent Packs
Recommending this product is a no-brainer. I feel that it beats out the competition from both eco-friendly and conventional detergents. For this price, with this performance and that formulation - I recommend this wholeheartedly.
Aunt Fannie's Vinegar Wash Floor Cleaner
Aunt Fannie's blew us away with their unique take on natural cleaning. By using ingredients that preserve good bacteria while eliminating the bad, Aunt Fannie's helps maintain a balanced living environment.
This floor cleaner is particularly impressive, packing a powerful punch against dirt and grime while using wholesome ingredients. While it does smell strongly of vinegar, it's a good-clean scent.
If I wanted a sea breeze, I'd head for the ocean...
Biopuro Perfume Free Baby Liquid Laundry Detergent
BioPuro baby laundry detergent is an eco-conscious sensitive skin friendly mixture of great washing ingredients with low to no irritancy. It's an easy to use liquid, in-drum formula also with natural wheat proteins to help add extra soothing power.
Excellent washing performance, good stain removal, high skin sensitivity.
Mollys Suds Laundry Powder
This non-biological laundry powder from Molly's Suds is a great product, formulated with a great deal of care and thought.
It's a product that we definitely recommend, although those with highly sensitive skin may check that you don't react with sodium carbonate and peppermint oil. As long as you have no reason to be concerned about these two ingredients, we think you should definitely give this product a try. It cleans well, the ingredients are plant based, it comes in a concentrated formula and Molly's Suds laundry powder proves itself to be a cost-effective solution.
Biokleen Free and Clear Dish Liquid
This product does not disappoint.
As well as being a very affordable product, it's biodegradable, cruelty-free, plant-based and extremely good at cleaning.
It does contain SLS and Cocamidopropyl Betaine, but so does your shampoo! And the trade-off for having two harsh ingredients in there is a cleaning power as good as I've seen.
Excellent.
Biopuro Bathroom Cleaner
Having sensitive allergy prone skin or dermatitis can make cleaning the bathroom a minefield. Environmentally friendly Biopuro Bathroom Cleaner aims to help make life with sensitive skin simpler. Dermatologically tested, its 7 ingredient formula works well for your bathroom while also aiming to cause zero issue for the skin. If however, you have known allergy or sensitization to fragrance (in particular linalool) then this is not the bathroom cleaner for you.
Earth Friendly Products ECOS Floor Cleaner
ECOS smells amazing and cleaned our test floors extremely well. Except for the Natural Fragrance, all the other ingredients are expertly chosen to deliver an effective clean with natural ingredients. It worked wonders not only on stubborn messes but also to restore the revitalizing shine to a dull floor.
Be sure to test this product on a low-traffic area to see how slippery it will make your floor and avoid any accidental falls!

Bean & Lily Floor Cleaner
We love this Bean & Lily Floor Cleaner. The cleaning power is excellent, it smells great and the ingredients are as transparent and gentle as they come.
This is a well designed and well-executed cleaner.
The only ingredient to watch out for is fragrance. While Bean and Lily insist the fragrances are natural, without any insight as to what they mean by that, we can only warn. There are a couple of unknowns in there too, but nothing to be alarmed about at this stage.
Fragrance aside, this is an excellent, well-formulated cleaner. Just keep it away from children - it really does look like a water bottle.
Dr. Mercola Healthy Home Greener Cleaner Multi-Surface Spray
Very few other cleaning spray products come close to being this well-rounded.
Hopefully, other companies will learn from what this product does correctly: excellent and versatility and performance, sustainably-sourced and carefully chosen plant- and mineral-derived ingredients, and full ingredient disclosure.

Bentley Organic Bathroom and Shower Cleaner
There's a lot to like about Bentley Organics Bath and Shower Cleaner and there's a lot to like about Bentley Organics. The ingredients have largely been chosen with a great deal of care and attention. It's as environmentally friendly a cleaning product as I've seen. And it performs the cleaning duties admirably.
I just wish they'd produce a fragrance-free option. Then it would be my idea of perfection.
Babyganics Fragrance Free Floor Cleaner Concentrate
Babyganics Floor Cleaner Concentrate's is an outstanding performer. It cleans well and has been formulated with a great deal of care and attention.
It contains five plant-based cleansers, along with several other biodegradable and naturally-derived ingredients, have more cleaning power than anything else I've tested in the safe, green, eco-friendly cleaner space.
Other companies take note. This floor cleaner concentrate has carved out a niche for itself, and it could well be one of the best in its category for a long time.
Better Life Tub & Tile Cleaner
Better Life Tub & Tile Spray had an outstanding cleaning performance. The smell is mild and pleasant compared to other bathroom cleaning products. Most of the ingredients are effective and safe for the general public, excluding those with specific allergies. I do want to give this product a solid 5, but the use of essential oils used for fragrances will be of concern for some.

The Honest Co. Dish Soap
Almost perfect. It washes well, relatively safe to use in the home and safe to use in the home, and minimal impact on the environment compared to its non-eco friendly competitors. If it was slightly more concentrated we'd be looking at a 5 star review.

The Honest Company Baby Dish Soap
Excellent for doing what it was designed to do: clean baby items. It's not a suitable replacement for your regular dish soap - it's simply too gentle.<.p>
If you want to use all baby products in a gentle no-fuss formula, then this is an excellent option.
Just don't try it on your pots and pans and expect good results.
Biolu Citronella Laundry Liquid
A superbly eco-friendly laundry liquid based on a kind to skin non-ionic surfactant called coco glucoside. A skin friendly laundry detergent with added softening qualities and in-wash lemon-scent. It's the lemon scent that sensitive skin sufferers need to be aware of - if you're sensitive to fragrances you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

A gentle, effective, fragrance free laundry detergent made by a company with a conscience.
Anyone looking for a safe yet effective laundry detergent should look no further.
Method All Purpose Cleaner
Method All-Purpose Naturally Derived Surface Cleaner is a quite outstanding cleaner. It has no problem tackling some of the more difficult cleaning jobs in a household. The well-balanced formula leaves no residue and no harsh chemicals on surfaces.
If you're not sensitive to fragrances, I can't recommend it highly enough.
Ecoegg Laundry Egg for Sensitive Skin
Ecoegg's Laundry Egg is a fantastic revolution in affordable, natural, sensitive skin friendly washing detergent. Approved by the National Eczema Foundation and Allergy UK our analysis of Ecoegg's ingredients supports the Ecoegg Laundry Egg as being great for sensitive, allergic and reactive skin types.
However, it should be noted a separate stain remover is a necessity for heavily soiled clothing - read our full review for details.
Biokleen Citrus Essence Laundry Liquid
I absolutely love the premise behind this company and the man who began it. This detergent washes well and smells great. The ingredients are all plant-based and biodegradable. While it's gentle on the environment, there are one or two questionable surfactants, and this particular edition isn't fragrance-free.
If you're not sensitive to fragrances, I highly recommend checking this product out for yourself. If not just to reduce your carbon footprint and waste, than for the pure fun and effectiveness of the product.
Just make sure to rinse your clothes properly!
Sodasan Comfort Sensitive Washing Powder
If you want to make a fantastic choice for the environment and have slightly sensitive skin, we'd highly recommend Sodasan Comfort Sensitive washing powder.
It contains nothing particularly harsh, its cruelty-free, it's plastic free, the ingredients are biodegradable and it performs exceptionally well.
The only mystery is why they are so coy about the formulation. It's fantastic once you actually find it!
Sonett Sensitive Laundry Liquid
Sonnett Laundry Liquid has been formulated with a great deal of care and attention. If you suffer from contact dermatitis, this liquid should be on your short-list of laundry detergents to try.
Even if you're not sensitive to detergents, the environmentally-responsible formulation and lack of carcinogens make the Sonett laundry liquid an attractive purchase. Of course, a laundry detergent must do a good job of actually cleaning laundry, which we're happy to say this one does.
This does come with a caveat - it doesn't clean microfibres. This can be hugely annoying if you like cycling or are of an athletic disposition. For most of us, the annoyance is limited.
Nellie's All Natural Laundry Soda
Nellies All-Natural Laundry Soda is a non-toxic powder detergent with a fun vintage design and packaging.
This powder is more concentrated, more cost-effective, and more eco-friendly than liquid detergent packaged in plastic.
It washes really well and there's only 4 ingredients!
Two of these ingredients may irritate if left on clothing so just make sure you rinse fully after washing.
Earth Friendly Products ECOS Shower Cleaner
Earth Friendly Products ECOS Shower Cleaner has good cleaning power, easily removing soap stains. The formula is gentle too, relying on plant-derived compounds including tea tree, aloe vera and lavender oil. There are a couple of ingredients that can cause contact dermatitis - so wear gloves when using this. If you are looking for a more powerful cleaner to remove refractory buildup, however, I would look elsewhere.
Eco-Me Floor Cleaner
Eco-Me's Floor Cleaner Concentrate is a highly effective for floors cleaner. It worked great on our tests on hardwood, lino and other soiled surfaces.
Plus, the ingredients are as gentle as they come. Or they would be, if the 'natural plant essential oils' were enumerated. As is, this entry in the ingredients list is too vague.
While I realize that Eco-Me isn't hiding toxic ingredients, the entire principle of this site is that full ingredient disclosure and transparency are better for the consumer. That's why this product is a 4 rather than a perfect 5.
In summation, if you want an economical, safe, and potent floor cleaner made exclusively with natural plant-derived products, look no further.
Grab Green Automatic Dishwashing Detergent Pods - Fragrance Free
Grab Green Automatic Dishwashing Detergent Pods is a bio based cleaner that not only cleans well, it contains some of the most gentle ingredients we've yet seen in dishwasher pods.
Excellent.
Grab Green 3 in 1 Laundry Detergent
The fragrance-free laundry powder from Grab Green is certainly a better option for individuals and families wanting a safer, non-harming and non-toxic detergent. For those who don't have sensitive skin or strong reactions to cleaning products and detergents, it should be just fine and not cause any irritation whatsoever. But for those with sensitive skin or who tend to react to personal care products, you may want to use caution when trying this product. If you want to give it a try, first test it out on a towel or rag and wear it on the skin for a bit to see if it causes any reactions. If you don't want to take any chances, look for a simpler non-toxic laundry detergent, like Molly's Suds, that has a far fewer chance of causing any sort of reaction.
Method Glass + Surface Cleaner
If you're not sensitive to fragrances and are looking for a gentle but relatively effective glass cleaner then Method Glass + Surface Cleaner is highly recommended.
Just remember to wear gloves before using this product, and give the glass a pre-clean before applying this cleaner. It's much more effective if you use it like that.
ATTITUDE Bathroom Cleaner (Citrus Zest)
Outstanding cleaning power with biodegradable, disclosed and plant based ingredients. Attitude have done it again. This is a company who believes in their mission and follows through in a meaningful way.
That said, the fragrances are strong in this one. If you're sensitive to fragrances you may want to look elsewhere.
Presto Laundry Detergent Powder
If you suffer from skin irritation associated with dyes, fragrances, and other ingredients in most traditional laundry detergents, Presto! Laundry Detergent Powder should be on your short-list. Unlike many other more 'natural' laundry detergents, Presto! Is also affordable and easy to acquire - it's an Amazon product.
There are one or two less-than-ideal ingredients in the powder, but seeing as how the powder is safer than most in terms of both the environment and human health, this one is worth a try. It cleans well, and with very little powder required per load, a canister goes a long way.
Very good.
Method Bathroom Cleaner (Eucalyptus and Mint)
Overall, Method Eucalyptus and Mint Bathroom Cleaner is a winner. It does its job effectively and the ingredients largely check out as being safe. Unless you're sensitive to sulfates or fragrances, I would definitely check this out.
Charlie's Soap Laundry Liquid
Charlie's Soap Liquid Laundry is a safe and eco-friendly alternative to conventional laundry detergents on the market that contain harmful sulfates, fragrances, and brighteners.
Made with an incredible 3 ingredients, it is formulated for working on all types of stains, and on both soft silks and hardy rags. Made for all washing machines, the Liquid Laundry leaves clothes feeling and smelling clean.
While it is a generally safe and non-toxic product, we recommend very sensitive skin users take caution due to the sodium carbonate and C12-15 Pareth-2 surfactant used in the formula.
Attitude Natural Floor Surfaces, Tiles & Wood Cleaner
Attitude's Floor Surfaces cleaner is a gentle solution for combating dust bunnies, kitchen muck, spider webs and other common culprits of floor dander. The ingredients are largely derived from plant and mineral sources. Natural citrus replaces strong artificial perfume or fragrances, leaving a fresh scent behind.
We found in our tests that this cleaner didn't leave our wood floors shiny, you'll need a separate polish for that, but the cleaning power was excellent.
As an added bonus, the product is not tested on animals, uses recycled plastic containers, and is created using renewable energy.
Absolutely delightful.
Savvy Green Laundry Detergent
Savvy Green Laundry Detergent is a top quality, high performing, well-formulated detergent. Just be careful when handling the ingredients, keep it away from kids, use the recommended amount, and make sure your clothes are fully rinsed.
I just wish they used cardboard instead of plastic packaging!
CleanWell Botanical Disinfectant All Purpose Cleaner - Lemon Scent
If you're looking for a disinfecting spray then CleanWell Botanical Disinfectant All Purpose Cleaner is an excellent choice.
I would prefer a gentler surfactant, but this cleans well, uses biodegradable plant-based ingredients, smells nice and is made by a business with a conscience.
The performance is simply excellent.
Dropps Sensitive Skin Laundry Detergent Pacs
Dropps Unscented Laundry Detergent Pods are great for people who are environmentally-conscious. The use of biodegradable, plant-based ingredients plus 100% recyclable packaging makes this product an earth-friendly choice.
The detergent cleans gently, yet effectively and the unscented, dye-free option also makes it a great option for users with sensitive skin.
Method Clementine Kitchen Surface Cleaner
The cleaning power behind Method Clementine Kitchen Cleaner is top quality. It's easy to apply and easy to clean.
That said, it isn't shy on fragrances. As someone who doesn't suffer from sensitive skin conditions, I'm more than happy using it.
However, for those who do are sensitive to fragrances, it might be one to avoid.
Bean & Lily Glass Cleaner
Bean & Lily Glass Cleaner is excellent. It cleans well and leaves a beautiful, crystal-clean shine and I was able to achieve glorious windows without too much work on my part!
While the cleaner does smell nice and isn't your typical detergent scent - Bean & Lily doesn't disclose the fragrance blend.
But fragrance aside, Bean & Lily does a great job with picking high-quality, naturally-derived ingredients that clean well. They also take a step above many companies by making their ingredient disclosure accessible and easy to understand to those of us who aren't chemists.
All things considered, great job, Bean & Lily!
Better Life All Purpose Cleaner
This product cleans very very well. The vast majority of the ingredients are chosen with a great deal of care, attention and expertise. Plus, you only need one product to clean every room of your house!
For a product made with such philosophy to contain MI is almost a mystery to me and I can only speculate that the use of MI doesn't have the same stigma in the USA as it does in Europe. Hopefully, this changes soon as this is otherwise an outstanding product.
Almost perfect, but with one glaring mistake.
Better Life Kitchen and Bath Scrubber
I highly recommend Better Life's Kitchen and Bath Scrubber, with one major caveat. It contains Methylisothiazolinone (MIT). It's such a shame that this ingredient persists in cleaning products. MIT aside, the formulation is outstanding, the performance is stellar, I'm pleased with the value, and it's a great comfort to know that I'm supporting a company with eco-friendly values aligned with my own. Without MIT this is a 5-star product. Hopefully, we'll see future iterations with this ingredient removed altogether.
Bean & Lily At Home Surface Cleaner
While Bean & Lily's At Home Surface Cleaner smells great and has been formulated with a great deal of care attention the cleaning performance is merely adequate. I've seen better-performing products that cost less.
If Bean & Lily removed the laureth-7, disclosed their fragrance ingredients, and amped up the cleaning power of this spray a bit, I'd definitely give it another chance.
Biokleen Bac-Out Bathroom Cleaner
Bac-Out bathroom cleaner largely did the job most conventional cleaners do but with a more transparent, gentler formulation.
The ingredients are a significant improvement on conventional cleaners, especially the unique cleaning quality of live enzyme cultures, but there's still cause for concern with the overuse of fragrances and the inclusion of benzisothiazolinone.
Decent cleaning power. Decent ingredients. However, if you're of a sensitive disposition, you may want to look elsewhere.
Better Life Kitchen and Bath Scrubber
I highly recommend Better Life's Kitchen and Bath Scrubber, with one major caveat. It contains Methylisothiazolinone (MIT). It's such a shame that this ingredient persists in cleaning products. Eco Me Glass Cleaner
Eco-Me's Glass Cleaner hits a home run on some surfaces and strikes out on others. Grime and dirt were effectively wiped away on glass surfaces but stuck around on mirrors. Streaking was also a problem unless the towel was completely dry. The ingredients in this product are wonderful, effective, and safe with the exception of an undisclosed mix of essential oils. This was a great cleaner on the right surface, but not consistent enough when compared to the top performers.
Eco-Me All Purpose Cleaner
Eco Me cleans using a combination of vinegar and gentle cleaning agents. It works well too, and would probably have scored a 4 had the company disclosed all of the ingredients.
Method Smarty Dish Dishwasher Tabs
Method Smarty Dish Dishwasher Tabs is a bio based dishwashing detergent that does an excellent job of cleaning most domestic dishes. The company have a commitment to clean living and mother nature, which makes the sheer quantity of synthetic ingredients quite surprising. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, there is a chance that these ingredients are contaminated with much nastier ingredients during manufacturing. What is more surprising is the company haven't provided full ingredient disclosure. What is an Organic Acid for example?
These tabs are still a very decent performer and a vast improvement over 99% of supermarket dishwasher tabs. They could have been outstanding.
Better Life Natural Floor Cleaner
Like their other products we've reviewed, Better Life gives us another great product in the form of a floor cleaner.
While it has great versatility and leaves behind a pleasant shine and scent, the mix of many fragrances may be an irritant to those with sensitivities. It also uses the dreaded MI as a preservative.
Overall this is a good product which cleans well and smells great. But it has a few unfortunate missteps.
Earth Friendly Products ECOS Free and Clear Laundry Detergent
ECOS Laundry Detergent isn't a one-size-fits-all green laundry solution. It'll produce great visual results with certain fabrics, but it won't impress your guests when they're presented with rough bath towels.
With one or two tweaks, it could be a great detergent. They need to improve its washing ability as well as replace one or two preservatives to be truly considered a great product.
But, if you want to take a small step towards achieving a greener lifestyle, feel free to road test it yourself.
Puracy Natural Multi-Surface Cleaner
Puracy Multi Surfacer Cleaner looks and smells great. It cleans well and, while it isn't 100% natural, it comes pretty darn close. It's just a shame that the synthetic element had to be a harsh synthetic preservative (Benzisothiazolinone) renowned for causing contact dermatitis.
If you're not sensitive to fragrances or the 'isothiazolinones', give this cleaner a shot! You may just find an all-new meaning for the word "clean."
Puracy Natural Dish Soap
It looks great, smells amazing and washes as well as any dish soap I've used in my life. 99% of this formula is plant-based, gentle and biodegradable. So why Puracy have added a harsh synthetic preservative like Benzisothiazolinone is almost bizarre.
If you're sensitive to fragrances, wear gloves. If you're sensitive to any of the Thiazoles, I would stay well clear.
With a tweak here and there to the formulation, this could have been a 5 star review. As it is, they must try harder!
Better Life Glass Cleaner
If we were to judge Better Life Glass Cleaner on cleaning power alone, this would be a top recommendation. We're also impressed that this cleaner contains only four ingredients.
The fact that one of those ingredients is MI is still baffling. This is a company who are averse to using toxins in their products. It doesn't add up.
Hopefully, as awareness grows and more studies are conducted, MI will be phased out of their products.
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner is a multi-surface cleaner with outstanding cleaning power. There are no two ways about it. The fact that two extremely gentle cleaning agents is responsible for this performance is remarkable. That said, there are also a few ingredients that are extremely disappointing, in particular, the isothiazolinones. With one or two tweaks this could be an outstanding product. But with these ingredients, it is hard to recommend. Particularly if you have sensitive skin or are sensitive to fragrances.
Begley's Glass Cleaner
Begley's Glass Cleaner contains only three plant based, biodegradable ingredients designed and manufactured by a company with vision and integrity. But try as I might, I couldn't recommend this product. I really wanted to as well. It would be a decent alternative if there were only a few natural options. But in a booming natural cleaning market, it quickly fell short of other competitor's performances. On the plus side, the ingredients are certainly better than conventional cleaners but it just didn't clean as well as other glass cleaners we've reviewed.
While I appreciate the mission and cause Begley's stands for, I wish it delivered better results.
Puracy Natural Laundry Detergent
Puracy's natural laundry detergent is a great step towards using natural, environmentally conscious products in your home. This detergent is uniquely formulated with many plant-based cleansers, and it does an amazing job of cleaning the dirtiest of laundry loads. However, the product does contain some harsh synthetic chemicals as well, which conflict with the company's 'free and clear' promise.
The Honest Company Bathroom Cleaner
While The Honest Company Bathroom Cleaner promises so much, the cleaning power was mediocre at best. And the sheer quantity of fragrances in there had our reviewer wheezing and sneezing.
Seventh Generation Natural Dish Liquid
I can't question the ability of this product to wash your dishes. I also can't question the credentials of the company that make it. 95% of this product is outstanding, but the other 5%, the preservatives, can cause such extreme reactions in sufferers, I can't wholeheartedly recommend this product.
Which is such a shame. A couple of minor tweaks ie replace the preservatives, and this would be world class.
Biokleen Auto Dish Powder - Free And Clear
Biokleen have made a concerted effort to formulate their Free and Clear Auto Dish Powder with ingredients that are safe for consumers, the environment and animals alike. And for that, they deserve enormous credit. But the fundamental purpose of a cleaner is to clean. And unfortunately, this didn't perform well in any of our tests.
All-in-all, this is not quite a top quality product and there are likely better alternatives out there.
Mrs Meyers Clean Day Dish Soap
Overall, Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dish Soap smells absolutely amazing and cleans very well too.
Unfortunately, there are one or two ingredients in there you should be aware of before buying.
If you are prone to contact dermatitis, anything from the cleansing agents to the essential oils to the preservatives could be a trigger for you. Meyers may be an alright option for the Average Joe, but if you have skin sensitivities, you might want to keep looking.
If you are dying for some good aromatherapy, use at your own risk and be sure to glove up.
Seventh Generation Free and Clear Laundry Liquid
Seventh Generation are a company with fine principles. This fragrance-free laundry liquid certainly cleaned well. Even heavily soiled and stained clothes come out looking fresh. In addition, we appreciate the lack of fragrances and dyes in the formula and the company's transparency.
It's the inclusion of known allergens and potential carcinogens should make you think twice before buying. If you suffer from skin irritation, there are enough potential problems here to prompt looking elsewhere.
Seventh Generation Free & Clear Glass & Surface Natural Cleaner
Seventh Generation Free and Clear Glass Surface Cleaner cleans exceptionally well - as good as any glass cleaner I've used before. So, in theory, I should be shouting from the rooftops about this product, but I cannot recommend it wholeheartedly.
The inclusion of isothiazolinonesis a bit of a shocker for a product in a Free and Clear range, marketed as a rage for sensitive skin sufferers. It simply doesn't lend itself to the 'A Clean You Can Trust' motto the company are so fond of. Nor is it necessarily "Safe For Use Around Kids and Pets."
The cleaner deserves a passing grade for high performance and ingredient disclosure, but Seventh Generation should put more effort into delivering on their claims to receive top marks.
If you are choosing between this glass and surface cleaner and a regular supermarket product, Seventh Generation spray is the superior choice. However, there are far better choices out there.
Mrs Meyers Clean Day Laundry Detergent
Mrs Meyers Laundry Detergent smells good, it washes well and despite being slightly more expensive than supermarket detergents represents great value for money.
Unfortunately,it contains two preservatives that can have such an extreme allergic reaction in sufferers I'm at a loss to explain their inclusion. Especially considering how much care and attention they applied in choosing the other ingredients.
Method All Floor Cleaner - Squirt and Mop
On the surface an all-round floor cleanser with benefits. It looks fantastic, smells delightful, works and is kind to the environment. Not just kind - but certifiably kind. It does, however, contain 2 notable allergens - limonene and methylisothiazolinone - if you suffer from allergies or have known allergies to either of these ingredients - method floor cleaner is not for you.
Sonett Dishwasher Detergent Tabs
The company are superb and the ingredients are plant based, cruelty free, sustainable and biodegradable.
Unfortunately, the results aren't as good as the packaging. The dreaded dishwasher spots were in abundance, and try as we might, we couldn't find a sweet spot with these.
If the company could produce tablets that actually clean, we'd be recommending these to the world.
GrabGreen Fragrance Free Dish Soap
We have used products that clean better. And we have reviewed products with ingredients that are gentler on you and the environment. While the company must be applauded or being this transparent with the contents of the dish soap, we really hope their next formulation shows a little more imagination with the cleaning agents and preservatives.
It's a decent dish soap, a step up from the usual supermarket bought brands, but we have tried better.
Method Dish Soap Lime and Sea Salt
This product cleans well and it smells great. It's made with cruelty free ingredients, and does use naturally derived ingredients, but there are a number of issues, particularly for sensitive skin sufferers. The fragrances and preservatives are known allergens and if you are of a sensitive disposition, you may want to look elsewhere.
J.R. Watkins Dish Soap
J.R. Watkins dish soap is manufactured by a reputable transparent company. It does a good job of cleaning dishes. And we know what ingredients are in the bottle. In addition, Watkins bottles are partially recycled from used consumer products, and they don't test on animals. Not to mention, their branding is pretty cool.
Unfortunately, there's too many fairly harsh ingredients for our liking. I hoped manufacturers would have ceased using methylisothiazolinone altogether by now. It also contains sulfates, phenoxyethanol and a number of other ingredients that could induce contact dermatitis.
If you do decide to use it - be sure to wear gloves!
Sonett Orange Power Cleaner
Sonett Orange Power Cleaner may be fully biodegradable, petro chemical free and manufactured with the latests eco friendly guidelines. But the actual formulation is a bog standard set of uninspiring cleaners with added fragrance. Lots and lots of fragrance.
If you're not sensitive to fragrances, don't have any heavy duty cleaning requirements and like to know what is in your cleaning products then maybe this would do. Otherwise, for the rest of us, there's plenty of variety out there that offer less allergens and greater performance.
Disappointing.
