Attitude Window & Mirror Cleaner rescued my home's glass surfaces as well as or even better than any other brand-name, a commercial product that I've ever used, and my examination of the company and chemical formula behind this cleaner left me feeling pretty darn good. Lots of product, no more smudges, simplicity, and a quick cleanup. There's really nothing more I could ask for.

I’ll be honest—this window and mirror cleaner from Attitude is an absolute lifesaver. Just a quick wipe with a paper towel and Attitude’s Window & Mirror had my mirrors, living room windows, and car windows clear and sparkling. During a gloomy winter, what could be better than clean glass to let the sunshine through and perk up your home while you dream of Spring?

Before I get started with my review, let’s talk about Attitude. This is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of using one of their products, so I was curious to learn what they’re all about.

Attitude is a Canadian-based company and their products are available in an impressive 44 countries across the world.

In 2005, Jean-François “JF” Bernier and Benoît “Ben” Lord founded Attitude with the vision of making safe, all-natural products affordable and accessible to families everywhere. Only a year later, JF and Ben brought biochemical engineer Hans Drouin onto the team to help with product development. While Ben left the team in 2010 to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, Attitude is still privately owned and actively involved in each and every aspect of their products’ creation and marketing.

They’ve got a lot of irons in the fire with an extensive range of products—everything from household cleaners to pet care and personal care lines.

In short, the attitude for which the company is named is everything I love to see in a cleaning product developer. They understand the problems in their industry and are committed equally to family, wellness, and the environment. That’s something more and more difficult to find these days.

Attitude checks out as an eco-friendly company that’s worked hard to successfully realize their vision. Time to investigate their product for myself!

There’s nothing terribly fancy about Attitude’s Window & Mirror packaging, but there doesn’t have to be!

The bottle itself is pretty huge, which I was happy about—with 27 fluid ounces of cleaner, I knew I wouldn’t have to skimp on usage. Each window and mirror in my house (and my car) was about to face this product’s wrath (and continue facing it for a long time, because a little goes a long way—but more on that, later).

The other thing I noticed right away about this product’s packaging was its advertisement of the formulation’s ingredients and relative compositions. Pretty nifty! While the bottle’s design is simple, Attitude’s flavor text is quick to bring comfort to those concerned about the household products they’re using and the companies who make them.

The cleaner itself is clear and scented lightly with a clean, citrus fragrance. Plus, it’s just viscous and sudsy enough to cling to the glass until you’re able to wipe it away.

So, does it work? I’m ready to find out!

I’m thrilled to say that yes, this product from Attitude certainly did not disappoint.

It’s so effective that I actually spent more time dirtying my mirrors than it took to make them spotless. I tend to really put products through the wringer when I’m writing a review, and this test was no exception. I wasn’t just content to know that this window and mirror cleaner could stand up to some fingerprints or the occasional toothpaste splatter—I made a right disaster of things.

I smeared soap, body wash, hair gel and all other manners of greasy mess across my bathroom mirror and even the windows. I desperately hope that my neighbors weren’t watching. Oops.

Then, all I needed were a couple of paper towels and my hefty bottle of Attitude, and I was ready to go. I sprayed the window and mirror cleaner directly onto the glass before wiping it down, then worked in circular motions until no product remained.

I have never seen a more perfect piece of glass. Attitude seriously meant it when they said that this cleaner is streak-free!

For round two, I topped off all the gunk with a solid spritz of hairspray, which clung perfectly to the mess. Here, the glare from the lights is not actually streaking, but rather a photographic artifact from the artificial light. (Yes, I know I should change my lightbulbs.) This is the cleanest these bathroom mirrors have ever been.

Any debris or smudges you might see on my window are only remaining because they’re on the outside of the glass, and while I’m tempted to brave the cold of winter and use this Attitude cleaner on the outdoor surfaces of my second-story apartment, too, I don’t trust myself around ladders.

With my glass surfaces exceptionally clean, everything is looking great so far. That means it’s time to dive a bit deeper and check out the ingredients that make Attitude’s Window & Mirror so great.

I was pleased to see that Attitude is one of those companies who’s truly transparent about the ingredients in their products’ formulations. The ingredients are listed honestly on the side of the bottle. They even go so far as to list the percentages of the amounts of the ingredients in their formula. And if that wasn’t enough, they publish these same ingredients on their website.

To really hold themselves accountable, they even include the purpose of each ingredient in parentheses, proving to their customers that each and every ingredient has a place and that there are no harmful substances hiding in dark corners.

Let’s take a look at the Window & Mirror ingredients list, shall we? A combination of package labeling and information from Attitude’s online product page yielded the following list and composition.

The two main surfactants in this formulation, Caprylyl Glucoside and Myristyl Glucoside are relatively gentle, biodegradable and plant derived. There are low recorded incidents of allergic contact dermatitis with these agents, but nothing compared to the more common surfactants you’ll find in shower gels and toothpastes.

Alcohol is present in this formulation and is fairly typical in a grease busting product like a window cleaner. In fact, the original formulation of Windex contained isopropyl alcohol and even now you’ll find it in many lense-cleaners.

The downside to alcohol is it is a known cause of contact dermatitis, so make sure you wear gloves when cleaning with this product. Make sure the room is well ventilated too – these fumes can cause nausea, headaches or even asthma type symptoms.

Alcohol can have a pungent smell, and the company has added a number of fragrances to mask this smell. Even these fragrances; terpineol, decanal, and allyl caproate, are relatively gentle and well tolerated. We aren’t talking a contact dermatitis soup here. Just avoid spraying it in your eye!

I truly have to applaud Attitude for the simplicity of their ingredients. Fragrance aside, this incredibly effective cleaner has only four ingredients, each with a distinct purpose and benefit. It doesn’t get much purer than that.

Attitude has done a fantastic job creating both a safe and effective cleaner for the glass in your home.

At an astonishingly low price of $4.95 for a 27-oz bottle of this cleaner, Attitude is offering up a steal.
